Radish is not a medical device. What that means.
Detail of the screen above. No retouching.
The proof, on screen
Every number
says where it's from.
These two lines sit one under the other on screen. “Oats” carries, in green, CIQUAL 32140 — the official table's own code, the one you can go and read for yourself. Directly below, “Prunes” comes from no table at all — so, instead of a code, the app writes ESTIMATED, in terracotta. Nothing to expand, nothing to work out: the colour and the word change, and you know which of the two numbers is quoted and which is approximated.
What is inside
What the free version actually includes.
On both stores, Radish is a free calorie counter: the log, the search and the barcode scanner have no cap and need no account.
Past the calorie line, the same calorie tracker carries a protein tracker — protein counted in grams against a goal worked out from your profile, and able to replace calories as the main ring on the home screen — a water tracker counting what you drink against a goal in litres you set yourself, a meal planner you fill by hand across the week and turn into a shopping list sorted by aisle, and a weekly report showing the calories logged each day and the share of the week’s entries that carry a source. Two things sit behind Premium: having the week generated for you, and the detailed recaps with long-term trends. Planning by hand and the weekly view do not.
For anyone leaving a tracker that went paywall, that is the whole point: an alternative to paid calorie apps where the log itself is never the thing being sold.
It is a food logging app first — you write down what you eat, the app adds it up — with a macro tracker for protein, carbs and fat sitting on top of the calories. Privacy friendly, here, means something you can check: no account, no advertising, and a food diary app whose entries stay on your phone — never sent to our servers (except AI or barcode scanning, if you use them). Before you install, you can read what a calorie tracker with no account keeps on your phone.
Taken as a free nutrition app, it is also a calorie counter without subscription for what most people open it to do: the log, the search across the built-in foods and the barcode scan carry no meal cap and no trial that runs out on its own. And when you scan food labels here, what is read is the barcode printed on them — the app does not read a nutrition panel from a photo.
Everything above rests on one rule: a privacy first app that shows the source of every value — CIQUAL (ANSES) or USDA. No account to create, no email to hand over, and the free core is not a trial: nothing turns into a subscription unless you choose one. Your diary stays on your phone — never sent to our servers (except AI or barcode scanning, if you use them).
Before you download
What it costs.
The core of Radish is free, with no time limit: nothing kicks in after three days, nothing closes after a month. Two optional paid plans fund development — you choose them inside the app, never here.

Radish Premium
€3.49 iPhone €3.59 Android
Per month in France, depending on your store. Or €29.99 a year, on both.
Everything in Radish Pro, plus:
- AI included, no key to set up: photograph your meal or describe it in one sentence — each recognized food stays marked ESTIMATED
- Long-term trends and reports
- CSV export of your log
The 7-day trial is for new subscribers only and never applies to the one-time purchase. After that, the subscription renews on its own at the price shown, until you cancel it — in the subscription settings of the App Store or Google Play.
Prices for France, in euros, taken on 14 September 2026 from the public pages of both stores. They are not the same everywhere, even within the euro area: on the same day, Google Play showed Premium from €3.69 a month in Ireland, and the App Store showed $3.99 a month in the United States and £2.99 in the United Kingdom. Each store shows the price for your country and confirms it before any payment. The choice is made inside the app, never on this site.
Your diary stays on your phone — never sent to our servers (except AI or barcode scanning, if you use them).
Before you install
What we get asked here.
Does the Premium prompt show up every time I open the app?
No. The log, search and barcode scan stay usable without limit from day one. The Premium prompt does not appear on every launch: it comes back roughly every eight days, not every time you open the app.
How do I get my log back if I switch phones?
Through the full JSON backup, re-importable into the app, which stays free and needs no account: Settings, then Export my data. CSV export of your log (a Premium feature) also needs no account to be created — Radish doesn't have one anywhere.
Does the app work without a connection?
Counting, searching the built-in database, recipes and Nutri-Score all work without a connection. Two features need the network: scanning a product missing from the database, which queries Open Food Facts, and photo estimation, an optional paid feature — the photo is queued and marked IN QUEUE until the connection comes back. Anonymised usage statistics are also sent to Google (in the EU, only if you agree); your diary, foods and weight never are.
